1978年のDCI復刻版DVDです。サンタクララヴァンガードが優勝しました。 またブルーデビルスが「片目の水夫の伝説」を熱演、1976年に初優勝したときにも演奏しましたが、 さらにパワーアップしています。70年代は現在インストラクターとして活躍している皆さんが現役でマーチしていた頃です。 例えばブルーデビルスのパーカッションキャプションヘッドのスコット・ジョンソン氏は この頃にブルーデビルスでスネアドラムを担当し、 インディビデュアル･コンペティション(ソロ部門)のスネア部門優勝という輝かしい実績を残しています。
